Cultivating Resilience in
Oak Creek
Golden Acre Homestead provides practical, physical assistance to our Veterans, elderly, disabled, and vulnerable neighbors. Our services are entirely free, funded by our community, and powered by volunteer teams. Explore our four core service programs below.
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' — Galatians 5:14
Hospitality & Fellowship
Mission: To rebuild the lost relational fabric of our neighborhood through intentional front-yard gatherings, open gates, and proactive, radical hospitality. We believe that true community resilience begins around a shared table and a warm fire, creating safe physical spaces for intergenerational connection.
Neighborhood Gatherings: Our core ministry of connection. We reject the isolation of modern suburban life by hosting seasonal cookouts, harvest meals, and open-gate days. These gatherings are not networking events; they are intentional, rustic spaces where elderly neighbors and young families can share stories and break bread together.
Environmental Stewardship
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." — Genesis 2:15
The Mission: Managing God's earth responsibly through zero-waste agricultural loops, rainwater retention systems, and native pollinator restoration.
Our Initiatives:
Lilies of the Field: Restoring native beauty to our ecosystem and providing fresh-cut floral bouquets to nursing homes and shut-ins to boost mental well-being and offer spiritual encouragement.
Rainwater Catchment: Sustainable, closed-loop irrigation systems designed to conserve municipal water and deliver nutrient-rich hydration to the acre.
The Zero-Waste Deep Litter Loop: Advanced soil management and composting techniques that turn homestead waste directly into nutrient-dense topsoil, completely eliminating synthetic fertilizers.
Community Compost Drop Off: Empowering the neighborhood to divert household food waste from municipal landfills to our secure, on-site compost stations.
Nutritional Support
"He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth." — Psalm 104:14
The Mission: Combating rising food costs and food insecurity by growing and distributing nutrient-dense produce, fresh eggs, orchard fruits, and local honey directly from our neighborhood soil to our neighbors' tables.
Our Initiatives:
The Daily Manna: Intensive, high-yield raised-bed gardening to provide immediate, fresh harvests for families on our local Needs List.
The Neighbor’s Root: Providing land access and mentorship for local families to learn how to grow their own food.
The Community Coop: A heritage breed flock providing a year-round, high-quality protein source through fresh eggs.
The Pollinator & Pantry: Securing long-term food resilience by cultivating seasonal fruits and managing on-site apiaries.
Service & Safety
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." — Galatians 6:2
The Mission: Alleviating household burdens for elderly and mobility-impaired neighbors through charitable home and property maintenance services, directly combating social isolation and unsafe living conditions.
Our Initiatives:
SafePath Initiative: Ensuring safe access for elderly neighbors through charitable winter snow removal, basic landscaping, and seasonal yard maintenance so they can safely age in place.
Heirloom Support: A dedicated wood-shop program offering handyman-level home repairs and the construction of essential items (like shelves or children's beds) for those in need.
