We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located right here in Oak Creek, WI.
Our "acre" is a working model of stewardship, transforming a standard residential lot into a source of abundance for the elderly, the hungry, and the community at large.
We operate entirely on a free-will donation basis—because neighbors help neighbors.
OUR MISSION
To strengthen the fabric of our neighborhood through a holistic model of service and agriculture. Golden Acre Homestead exists to combat community deterioration by beautifying shared spaces, providing nutritional support through community-harvested gardens, and alleviating household burdens through charitable home and property maintenance services.
THE NEED
In an era of rising food costs and increasing social isolation, our neighborhood faces two distinct challenges:
Food Security: Access to fresh, nutrient-dense food is becoming a luxury rather than a standard.
Community Resilience: Elderly and mobility-impaired neighbors often struggle with property maintenance (snow removal, repairs), leading to unsafe living conditions and isolation.
