Join the Homestead

We have a mission.
We need your hands.

Golden Acre Homestead runs on the grit, generosity, and sweat equity of our Oak Creek neighbors. We believe that you don't need to be a master carpenter or a master gardener to make a massive difference in your community—you just need a heart for service and a willingness to get your boots dirty.

Whether you want to commit to a weekly shift or just show up for a single Saturday build project, we have a spot for you on the line.

Active Deployment Roles:

  • 🌱 The Ground Crew (Spring/Fall): Help us maintain the single-acre farm. Tasks include moving compost, planting the community garden, weeding the raised beds, and assisting with neighborhood yard cleanups for our senior residents.

  • 🔨 Heirloom Support (Year-Round): Got a toolbelt? Join Dave in the woodshop or out in the field. We are constantly building and repairing infrastructure—from the chicken coop to accessibility ramps for our mobility-impaired neighbors.

  • ❄️ SafePath Winter Ops (Winter): When the blizzards hit, we deploy. We need volunteers to help man the snowblowers and clear driveways for those who are physically unable to dig themselves out.

  • 🤝 Community Ambassadors (Events): If heavy lifting isn't your thing, we still need you. Help us run our front-yard hospitality events, manage the sign-in tables, and connect with the neighbors.

How to Enlist

We manage all of our volunteer shifts, background checks, and waivers through a secure platform called Golden Volunteer.
